Read this book, and tho interesting, it is not so much Einstein or Poincare, as about the attempts of synchronization of clocks around the globe and mapping of the globe; both the objectives being different facets of the same thing.
Einstein's and Poincare's ideas on these are only a part of the picture.
If the title was different I would have had no complains with the book. If the title had been any different I would have probably never picked the book up - I am not sure if that would have been a big loss!
PS: Has a bit of insight on scientists working for projects work... which is of course different to scientists working for university research? (Not to be taken as a blanket statement.)
